Today, everybody is well aware of the death and injury on our Irish roads. With the attitude of ‘it will not happen to me’, this trend is bound to continue. Not only are there careless drivers on our roads,  we have our fair share of stupid ones as well.

Many drivers simply do not take into account that others are on the road, these people just do not take the time to check their mirrors or indicate while turning. Carelessness is also observed when these drivers enter a roundabout on the wrong lane. All too often we see these people cut off other drivers, driving too close and even driving on the breakdown land and hard shoulder.

These aggressive drivers use high powered cars, talk on their mobile phones, do personal grooming, reading newspapers while totally ignoring the safety needs of others.

We even have some drivers that drive at night without using their lights. It seems that the rules of the road do not apply to them. Other night drivers may have blown lamps and these characters are also very dangerous since oncoming traffic find it hard to distinguish if a motorbike or the like is approaching. From a distance, a blown lamp could result in a vehicle being mistakenly identified as a bicycle, a tractor or some other large agricultural or construction equipment. Very often, these mistakes result in a tragic loss of life.

While on the subject of agricultural machinery, there often are trailer loads of large bales of hay and stray that are not properly secured. When these loads break up and find themselves in the middle of the road, they pose a very dangerous obstacle to oncoming traffic.  Also, slow moving tractors with trailer loads of goods often cause the restless driver to take chances to try to overtake them. Many deaths have resulted in this activity, when a driver finds himself in the middle of the road facing oncoming traffic and he having nowhere to go.

This website was established in order to give Irish Drivers some place whey can vent their anger and concerns. We have provided you with a guestbook  where you can post your comments or compliments regarding good and bad drivers.

Dangerous driving cannot be tolerated any more and the time is now here to show some courtesy and common sense to all road users.
